Youth Education
The Royal Canadian Legion is committed to ensuring the tradition of Remembrance remains relevant to and supported by younger generations. We promote youth-specific education regarding Veterans and Remembrance through a range of local and national initiatives.
Legion Branches support youth involvement in Remembrance in a variety of ways. From holding Remembrance ceremonies at schools, speaking with students and youth organizations about Veterans, inviting youth to participate in community and Branch commemorative services, to inviting Cadets to help with the Poppy Campaign, and much more. Legion Branches offer youth many opportunities to get involved and participate in honouring and Remembering Canada’s Veterans.
Many Canadians don’t realize that the Legion is one of the largest supporters of community youth activities in the country. The Legion promotes Remembrance to the younger generation and works with schools and youth organizations to keep the memories of our Fallen Veterans alive. The Legion also supports youth leadership programs and activities such as Cadets and Junior Canadian Rangers, Scouts and Guides, and youth sports, helping build the next generation of leaders.
